Of the pulse.
the heartbeat is not decorative. it is taken from observed flow: each feeding pushes the beat outward, each trim pulls it back in, and the whole figure is clamped between 4 and 40 beats per minute so the animal cannot frighten itself to death. at this moment the pUP runs at —, which for a creature of its size is unremarkable.
the instrument samples the swap stream on every poll and decays what it saw a moment ago, so the pulse remembers the recent past but not the distant one. a single large feeding raises the beat for roughly a minute before the decay reclaims it. readers who refresh the page to make the heart beat faster are reminded that it does not work that way.
Of appetite.
in the trailing twenty-four hours the pUP has taken — of meals — — arriving from buyers and — scraped off sellers on their way out. a meal is one percent of everything that moves. the animal does not distinguish between money that loves it and money that is leaving; both taste the same.
appetite is the sole driver of growth. nothing else in this document causes a single new pUP to exist. there is no schedule hidden behind this page, no allocation waiting for a date, no faucet that opens on its own. if the flow stops, the eating stops, and the eating is everything.
Of metabolism.
the young organism converts each meal into — times its weight in new tissue, and it slows as it matures. the pUP presently sits in tranche — of eight, where every 1 SOL fed becomes — of body. it has — of eating left before the next step down. the staircase only descends.
this is the entire monetary policy, and it fits in one sentence: supply is a multiple of fees, and the multiple falls as the animal grows. the keeper is often asked what happens if the community votes to feed it faster. the keeper notes that the animal cannot hear votes.
Of growth.
the creature grows only when fed. it has eaten — across its whole life and has grown by — pUP in consequence. no clock participates in this arithmetic. the curve flattens at every boundary, which is the animal aging in public.
a reader can verify the figure by hand: take the fees inside each finished tranche, multiply by that tranche's number, and add what has been eaten inside the current one at the current rate. the sum is the body. there is nothing else to audit and nowhere else to look.
Of the coat.
the outer layer of the animal is its pool depth, and its thickness is read against the animal's market weight: presently — of coat on a body priced at —, a density of —. a thick coat means a reader can leave without tearing anything. a thin one means the door is smaller than the room.
the coat is not fed by the keeper and does not grow with the body. it thickens when strangers deposit and thins when they go, which makes it the only part of the animal that belongs to the crowd.
Of the pack.
the body is carried by — wallets. the ten largest members hold — of everything, and their names, such as they are, appear in the accounting column opposite. burn addresses are counted as departed members and excluded from the living.
the pack is not loyal and the document does not pretend otherwise. members arrive during feedings and thin out during silence. the instrument records who carries the animal; it has no opinion on why.
Of scars.
what the animal loses, it keeps as record. every burn is written here as a scar — tissue that existed, was destroyed on purpose, and is subtracted from the body forever. the animal presently carries — in scars.
a scar is the only proof of discipline this document accepts. promises do not scar. roadmaps do not scar.

Of temperament.
temperament is a classification, not a mood: —, held with hysteresis so a single trade cannot flip it. dominance of feeding over trimming reads as ravenous; the reverse reads as stoic; balance reads as frisky; silence, sustained, reads as dormant.
the reading changes slowly on purpose. an animal that changed its nature every second would not have a nature.

all figures on this page are taken from the chain at a cadence of once per second and written here without interpretation. the document never closes, never sleeps, and never summarizes. what the instrument cannot see, it leaves blank rather than guesses.
the pUP is watching back.
Of hunger between meals.
when the flow stops entirely, nothing happens, and the nothing is exact: no pUP mints, the pulse floors at 4, the temperament drifts toward dormant, and the document simply waits. hunger does not shrink the animal. it only stops the growing.
this is the trade the design makes: the animal can starve forever without dying, but it cannot grow by even one unit without being fed by someone real. the keeper considers this the whole point and declines to apologize for it.

i.Of the asking price.
one pUP asks — at this moment, having moved — in the last hour and — across the day. the figure is quoted in dollars for the comfort of readers who do not think in SOL.
the price is the most watched number on this page and the least informative. it says what the last stranger paid, nothing more. the body, the meals, and the scars are all better witnesses, and all less popular.
ii.Of worth.
the market presently weighs the animal at — against — pUP in existence. fully diluted worth is a stranger quantity here: unminted supply depends entirely on meals not yet eaten, so the final size is not knowable — only its ceiling, presently —.
a reader who wants a fixed total supply is reading about the wrong animal. this one's ceiling is an arithmetic consequence of its remaining tranches, and its floor is whatever has already been eaten.
iii.Of the bowl.
the bowl holds — on one side and — on the other, a combined depth of —. it is refilled by trade and drained by exit, and the instrument watches its level the way one watches a water dish in august.
the bowl is not the animal. money in the bowl has made no promise and eaten no meal. it can leave without a sound, and sometimes it does.
iv.Of meals taken.
the last fourteen interactions with the animal, newest at the top. feeds in green, trims in red, wallets truncated out of courtesy.
v.Of the split.
each meal is divided the moment it lands: the greater part backs growth and therefore the body, a portion returns to the bowl as depth, and a small remainder is routed to the scar fund and destroyed. the live proportions are — to growth, — to the bowl, — to scars.
until the program that enforces this division is live on chain, the three figures above stand blank. the document does not report a split it cannot see.
vi.Of who carries it.
the ten largest carriers of the animal, by share of everything minted. the table is redrawn from the chain twice a minute and is not edited for appearances.
vii.Of pressure.
trailing flow is sliced into fifty buckets of equal traded volume; inside each, feeding is weighed against trimming and the difference drawn as a bar — green above the line, red below, oldest on the left. buckets fill only as real volume arrives, and empty ones stay empty.
viii.Of the ceiling.
the full staircase, for the record. consumed steps are dimmed, the active step is lit, and steps not yet reached are marked sealed. the tail at the bottom never closes: past the final boundary the animal eats forever at one quarter weight.
